Pulaski County is a county located in the United States of Illinois. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 7348 inhabitants. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 6362, making it Illinois's eighth smallest county. Its area is just over 203.33 sq mi (526.62 square kilometre), of which, 200.79 square miles (520.04 square kilometre) of it is land and 2.55 square miles (6.6 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the third smallest by size in Illinois.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 7348 people, 2893 households, and 1942 families living in the county. The population density was 36.6 people per square mile (14.13/kmē), it is Illinois's 32nd least densely populated county. There were 3353 housing units at an average density of 16.7 per square mile (6.45/kmē). The average household size was 2.44 persons, and the average family size was 3.03 persons. In the Pulaski County, 27.2% of the population was under the age of 18, 8.3% were 18 to 24, 25.3% were 25 to 44, 21.7% were 45 to 64, and 17.4% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 91.8 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 89.3 males. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 6362, The racial makeup of the county was 66.54% White, 30.92% Black or African American, 0.16% American Indian, 1.02% Asian, 0% Native Hawaiian, and 1.37% from two or more races.
