Prince William County is a United States county located in the United States of Virginia. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Prince William County is home to 280813 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 364734, It is third most populous county in Virginia. The county comprises an area of 348.36 square miles (902.25 kmē), of which, 337.78 square miles (874.85 kmē) of it is land and 10.58 square miles (27.4 kmē) of it is water, it is the 60th largest by area in the U.S. state of Virginia.

The population density was 831.3 people per square mile (320.97/kmē), it is 38th most densely populated county in Virginia. There were 98052 housing units at an average density of 290.3 per square mile (112.09/kmē). The average household size was 2.94 persons, and the average family size was 3.32 persons. The population's age distribution was 30.4% under the age of 18, 8.8% from 18 to 24, 35.2% from 25 to 44, 20.8% from 45 to 64, and 4.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 99.5 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 97.4 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 364734, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 69.21% White, 20.14% Black or African American, 0.51% American Indian, 7.23% Asian, 0.18% Native Hawaiian, and 2.73% from two or more races.
