Preston Town is a town located in Caroline County, Maryland, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. It is home to over 566 people (2000 census). As of July 2008, the estimated population of the town is 672, It is the 62nd smallest by population in the U.S. state of Maryland. The town extends throughout a territory of 0.56 sq mi (1.45 kmē ), it is the 65th smallest by area in the U.S. state of Maryland.

As of the census of 2000, there were 566 people, 225 households, and 169 families residing in the town. The population density was 1009.2 people per square mile (389.65/kmē), it is Maryland's 106th least densely populated town. There were 242 housing units at an average density of 432.1 per square mile (166.83/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.52 persons, and the average family size was 2.86 persons. In the town the population was spread out, with 25.3% under the age of 18, 4.9% from 18 to 24, 38.2% from 25 to 44, 17.1% from 45 to 64, and 14.5% who were 65 or older.
