Presque Isle City, Maine is a city of the Aroostook County, Maine, United States. As of 2000 the population was 9511. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 9045, It is the 13th most populous in the U.S. state of Maine. The city has a total area of 77.55 miē (200.85 kmē), of which, 75.75 square miles (196.19 kmē) of it is land and 1.8 square miles (4.66 kmē) of it is water, it is the third largest in terms of geographical size. It is ranks 16 in the size of its inland waterways in Maine.

As of the census of 2000, there were 9511 people, 3963 households, and 2465 families residing in the city. The population density was 125.6 people per square mile (48.49/kmē), making it the fifth least densely populated city in Maine. There were 4405 housing units at an average density of 58.2 per square mile (22.47/kmē). The average household size was 2.25 and the average family size was 2.82. In the Presque Isle City, 21.6% of the population was under the age of 18, 13.1% were 18 to 24, 27% were 25 to 44, 22.4% were 45 to 64, and 15.9% who were 65 or older.
