Preble County is one of the 88 county of Ohio, located towards the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 42337. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 41643, It is the 59th most populous county in the U.S. state of Ohio. The county encompasses an area of 426.33 sq mi (1104.19 sq km ), of which, 424.8 square miles (1100.23 sq km) of it is land and 1.52 square miles (3.94 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 53rd largest by total area in Ohio.
