The census designated place encompasses an area of 26.56 square miles (68.79 square kilometre ), of which, 25.18 square miles (65.22 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.38 square miles (3.57 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the seventh largest by area in the U.S. state of Maryland.
