Portland City, San Patricio and Nueces counties, Texas is a city located in the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 14827 inhabitants. Its population was estimated at 16490 in July 2008, It is 151st most populous in Texas. It is spread over 9.62 sq mi (24.92 kmē), of which, 6.98 square miles (18.08 kmē ) of it is land and 2.64 square miles (6.84 kmē) of it is water, it is the 237th largest by area in the U.S. state of Texas.

As of the census of 2000, there were 14827 people in the city, organized into 5021 households, and 4053 families living in the city. The population density was 2125.5 people per square mile (820.66/kmē), it would be the 156th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Texas.
