Porter City is a city located in the Yellow Medicine County, Minnesota, United States. In 2000, the population was 190. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 163, It is Minnesota's 178th smallest by population . The city extends throughout a territory of 2.24 mi˛ (5.8 sq km ), of which, 2.23 square miles (5.78 sq km) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, makes it the 285th largest by total area in Minnesota.
