Portal Town is one of the town of Bulloch County, Georgia, located towards the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. In 2000, the population was 597. The town's estimated population as of July 2008 was 608, It is Georgia's 189th smallest by population . The town comprises an area of 1.77 square miles (4.58 kmē), of which, 1.74 square miles (4.51 kmē) of it is land and 0.03 square miles (0.08 kmē) of it is water, making it the 393rd largest by size in Georgia.

As of the census of 2000, there were 597 residents, 232 households, and 168 families in the town. The population density was 343.1 people per square mile (132.47/kmē), it is Georgia's 190th least densely populated town. There were 254 housing units at an average density of 146 per square mile (56.37/kmē). The average household size was 2.57 people, and the average family size was 3 people.
