Portage County, Ohio is a county located in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. In 2000, county's population was 152061 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 155991, giving it the 19th largest population among Ohio's county. It covers total area of 507.11 miē (1313.41 kmē), of which, 492.39 square miles (1275.28 kmē) of it is land and 14.72 square miles (38.12 kmē) of it is water, making it Ohio's 31st largest county by total area. It is ranks ninth in the size of its inland waterways in Ohio.
