Portage City is one of the city of Columbia County, Wisconsin, located towards the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. According to the latest population census dating back to 2000, the Portage City is home to 9728 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 9919, It is the 78th most populous in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It is spread over 9.02 sq mi (23.36 kmē), of which, 8.29 square miles (21.47 kmē ) of it is land and 0.73 square miles (1.89 kmē) of it is water, it is the 64th largest by area in the U.S. state of Wisconsin.
