Port Lavaca City is a city located in Calhoun County, Texas, in the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. The city has a population of 12035 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 11432, giving it the 181st largest population among Texas. It is spread over 13.64 square miles (35.33 sq km), of which, 9.79 square miles (25.36 sq km ) of it is land and 3.85 square miles (9.97 sq km) of it is water, making it Texas's 175th largest by total area.
