Port Hueneme City is a city located in Ventura County, California, in the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 21845 inhabitants. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the city is 21478, It is 293rd most populous in California. Its area is just over 4.66 square miles (12.07 kmē), of which, 4.45 square miles (11.53 kmē) of it is land and 0.22 square miles (0.57 kmē) of it is water, making it the 563rd largest by size in California.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 21845 people, 7268 households, and 4999 families residing in the city. The population density was 4912.9 people per square mile (1896.88/kmē), making it the 210th most densely populated city in California. For every 100 females there were 101.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.7 males. The median age is 30.3 years, The median age of males was 28.9 years, for females the median age was 32 years. The racial makeup of the city was 12510 White, 1324 Black or African American, 369 American Indian, 1383 Asian, 110 Native Hawaiian, 1377 from two or more races and 4772 Ohter races.
