Port Allen City is a one of the West Baton Rouge Parish, Louisiana, located in Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 5278 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 4984, making it Louisiana's 101st largest. The city comprises an area of 2.63 square miles (6.81 square kilometre), of which, 2.12 square miles (5.49 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.51 square miles (1.32 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 216th largest by total area among Louisiana.

As of the census of 2000, there were 5278 people, 400 households, and 290 families residing in the city. The population density was 2486.3 people per square mile (959.97/kmē), it would be the 36th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Louisiana.
