Polson City is a city located in Lake County, Montana, in the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. In 2000, the population was 4041. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the city is 5228, It is the 24th largest by population in the U.S. state of Montana. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 2.71 miē (7.02 kmē), makes it the 102nd largest by total area in Montana.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4041 people, 1739 households, and 1052 families living in the city. The population density was 1490.9 people per square mile (575.64/kmē), making its Montana's 51st most densely populated city. There were 1977 housing units at an average density of 729.5 per square mile (281.66/kmē). The average household size was 2.25 persons, and the average family size was 2.86 persons. In the Polson City, 25.6% of the population was under the age of 18, 8.7% were 18 to 24, 25.3% were 25 to 44, 20.9% were 45 to 64, and 19.6% who were 65 or older.
