Polk County is a county located in Nebraska, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. The population of county in 2000 stood at 5639 as per the Census data. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 5122, It is the 54th most populous county in the U.S. state of Nebraska. It covers total area of 440.72 sq mi (1141.46 square kilometre), of which, 438.84 square miles (1136.59 square kilometre) of it is land and 1.88 square miles (4.87 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 11th smallest by area in the U.S. state of Nebraska.
