Polk County, Missouri is a county of the United States of Missouri. In 2000, the population was 26992. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 30404, It is the 38th largest in terms of population. The county extends throughout a territory of 642.46 square miles (1663.96 kmē ), of which, 637.2 square miles (1650.34 kmē) of it is land and 5.26 square miles (13.62 kmē) of it is water, it is the 44th largest by area in the U.S. state of Missouri.
