Polk County is a county located in Minnesota, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. The population of the county was 31369 as per the 2000 census data. In July 2008, its estimated population was 30694, making it Minnesota's 35th largest county. It covers total area of 1997.81 square miles (5174.3 square kilometre), of which, 1970.37 square miles (5103.23 square kilometre) of it is land and 27.44 square miles (71.07 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the ninth largest by total area among Minnesota's county.
