Point Pleasant Beach Borough is a borough located in Ocean County, New Jersey, in the Northeastern Region (Mid-Atlantic) of United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 5314 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 5418, It is the 273rd largest in terms of population. It covers total area of 1.72 sq mi (4.45 square kilometre), of which, 1.44 square miles (3.73 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.28 square miles (0.73 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 320th largest by area in the U.S. state of New Jersey.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 5314 residents, 457 households, and 284 families in the borough. The population density was 3696 people per square mile (1427.03/kmē), making it the 178th most densely populated borough in New Jersey. There were 3558 housing units at an average density of 2470.8 per square mile (953.98/kmē). It has an average household size was 2.25 persons, and the average family size was 2.96 persons. In the borough the population is diverse age-wise, with 19.2% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 28.6% from 25 to 44, 26.6% from 45 to 64, and 19% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 101.6 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 99.9 males. The median age of the borough's population was 42.6 years, The median age of males was 40.5 years, for females the median age was 44.8 years. The racial makeup of the borough was 5098 White, 28 Black or African American, 18 American Indian, 54 Asian, 1 Native Hawaiian, 37 from two or more races and 78 Ohter races.
