Poinsett County is a county located in the United States of Arkansas. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 25614 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population of the county is 24721, It is the 28th largest county by population in the U.S. state of Arkansas. The county has a total area of 763.39 sq mi (1977.17 sq km), of which, 757.74 square miles (1962.54 sq km) of it is land and 5.65 square miles (14.63 sq km) of it is water, it is the 23rd largest in terms of geographical size.

The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 24721, The racial makeup of the county was 22458 White, 1908 Black or African American, 72 American Indian, 35 Asian, 5 Native Hawaiian, and 243 from two or more races.
