Pocomoke City City, Worcester County, Maryland is a city located in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 4098 inhabitants. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 3879, making it the 186th most populous in Maryland. It has total area of 3.29 square miles (8.52 kmē), of which, 3.04 square miles (7.87 kmē) of it is land and 0.25 square miles (0.65 kmē) of it is water, making it Maryland's 174th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 4098 people, 1596 households, and 1058 families residing in the city. The population density was 1346.5 people per square mile (519.89/kmē), making it the 227th most densely populated city in Maryland. There were 1764 housing units at an average density of 580.3 per square mile (224.06/kmē). The average household size was 2.51 persons, and the average family size was 3.11 persons. In the city the population was spread out, with 30.5% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 26.7% from 25 to 44, 19.1% from 45 to 64, and 16% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 119.6 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 133.8 females. The median age was 35.5 years, the median age of male residents at 33.1 and the median age of female residents at 36.9. The racial makeup of the city was 50.73% White, 46.36% Black or African American, 0.46% American Indian, 0.46% Asian, 0.02% Native Hawaiian, 1.61% from two or more races and 0.34% Other races.
