In 2000, census designated place's population was 2671 inhabitants. making it the 74th least populous in Massachusetts. Its area is just over 9.82 mi˛ (25.43 sq km), of which, 3.75 square miles (9.71 sq km) of it is land and 6.08 square miles (15.75 sq km) of it is water, making it Massachusetts's 61st largest by total area. It is ranks 13 in the size of its inland waterways in Massachusetts.
