Plymouth Township Cdp, Wayne County, Michigan is a town located in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. In 2000, the population was 27798. It is the 52nd largest by population in the U.S. state of Michigan. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 15.96 square miles (41.34 sq km), of which, 15.92 square miles (41.23 sq km) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 sq km) of it is water, making it Michigan's 49th largest by total area.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 27798 people, 10757 households, and 7684 families living in the town. The population density was 1746.3 people per square mile (674.25/kmē), it is 170th most densely populated town in Michigan. There were 11043 housing units at an average density of 693.7 per square mile (267.84/kmē). The average household size was 2.49 persons, and the average family size was 3.01 persons. In the town the population was distributed as follows: 22.6% under the age of 18, 6.5% from 18 to 24, 30.4% from 25 to 44, 28.2% from 45 to 64, and 12.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 100.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 100.6 males. The median age of the town's population was 39.6 years, the median age of male residents at 38.7 and the median age of female residents at 40.6. The racial makeup of the town was 92.38% White, 2.96% Black or African American, 0.27% American Indian, 2.73% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, 1.25% from two or more races and 0.4% Other races.
