Pleasants County, West Virginia is a county located in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. The county has a population of 7514 as per the 2000 census data. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 7150, It is fourth least populous county in West Virginia. The county comprises an area of 134.59 sq mi (348.59 kmē), of which, 130.73 square miles (338.59 kmē) of it is land and 3.86 square miles (10 kmē) of it is water, makes it the fourth smallest by total area in West Virginia.

The population density was 57.5 people per square mile (22.2/kmē), it is the 26th most densely populated county in the U.S. state of West Virginia. In the county the population was spread out, with 23.8% under the age of 18, 7.8% from 18 to 24, 28.7% from 25 to 44, 24.8% from 45 to 64, and 14.9% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 99.8 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 103.9 females. Its population was estimated at 7150 in July 2008, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 7006 White, 39 Black or African American, 37 American Indian, 28 Asian, 0 Native Hawaiian, and 40 from two or more races.
