Plano City is a city located in the Collin and Denton counties, Texas, United States. The population of city in 2000 stood at 222030 as per the Census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 267480, It is the ninth largest in terms of population. The city spans an area of 71.63 sq mi (185.52 sq km), of which, 71.57 square miles (185.37 sq km) of it is land and 0.06 square miles (0.16 sq km) of it is water, making it Texas's 22nd largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 222030 people in the city, organized into 80875 households, and 60578 families living in the city.
