Placentia City, California is a city of the Orange County, California, United States. As of 2000 the population was 46488. In July 2008, its estimated population was 49692, making it the 166th most populous in California. It has total area of 6.6 sq mi (17.09 square kilometre), of which, 6.59 square miles (17.07 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 451st largest by total area in California.
