Pittsfield City is a United States city located in the Berkshire County, Massachusetts, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 45793 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 42652, It is 26th most populous in Massachusetts. The city has a total area of 42.32 sq mi (109.61 kmē), of which, 40.73 square miles (105.49 kmē) of it is land and 1.59 square miles (4.12 kmē) of it is water, makes it the fifth largest by total area in Massachusetts.
