Pittsburg County is a United States county located in the United States of Oklahoma. The county has a population of 43953 as per the 2000 census data. Its population was estimated at 45115 in July 2008, making it Oklahoma's 20th largest county. The county has a total area of 1377.85 miē (3568.62 kmē), of which, 1305.94 square miles (3382.37 kmē) of it is land and 71.91 square miles (186.25 kmē) of it is water, it is the eighth largest by area in the U.S. state of Oklahoma. It is ranks second in the size of its inland waterways in Oklahoma.

It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 45115, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 34784 White, 1887 Black or African American, 5908 American Indian, 183 Asian, 16 Native Hawaiian, and 2337 from two or more races.
