Pismo Beach City is a city located in San Luis Obispo County, California, in the Western Region (Pacific) of United States. The population of the city was 8551 as per the 2000 census data. The July 2008 population estimate is 8573, It is 482nd most populous in California. It is spread over 13.45 sq mi (34.84 kmē), of which, 3.61 square miles (9.35 kmē ) of it is land and 9.83 square miles (25.46 kmē) of it is water, it is the 247th largest by area in the U.S. state of California.

As of the census of 2000, there were 8551 people, 4230 households, and 2323 families residing in the city. The population density was 2366 people per square mile (913.52/kmē), it is 480th most densely populated city in California.
