Pink Town, Oklahoma


Pink Town is a town located in Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma, in the Southern Region (West South Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 1165. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the town is 1226, making it the 206th most populous in Oklahoma. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 25.95 sq mi (67.21 square kilometre), it is the 34th largest in terms of geographical size.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1165 people, 430 households, and 339 families residing in the town. The population density was 44.9 people per square mile (17.34/kmē), it is the 80th least populated town in terms of population density. There were 466 housing units at an average density of 18 per square mile (6.95/kmē). The average household size was 2.71 people, and the average family size was 3.04 people. In the town the population is diverse age-wise, with 26.5% under the age of 18, 7% from 18 to 24, 29.1% from 25 to 44, 26.5% from 45 to 64, and 10.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 105.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 104.8 males. The median age is 37.6 years, the median age of male residents at 37.3 and the median age of female residents at 37.7. The racial makeup of the town was 83.09% White, 0.77% Black or African American, 8.67% American Indian, 0.43% Asian, 0.26% Native Hawaiian, 6.27% from two or more races and 0.52% Other races.
