Pinellas County, Florida is a county of the United States of Florida. Pinellas County had an official population of 921482 in 2000. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 910260, It is the sixth largest county by population in the U.S. state of Florida. It is spread over 607.67 sq mi (1573.86 sq km), of which, 279.92 square miles (724.99 sq km ) of it is land and 327.75 square miles (848.87 sq km) of it is water, it is the 14th smallest by area in the U.S. state of Florida. It is ranks eighth in the size of its inland waterways in Florida.

The population density was 3292 people per square mile (1271.05/kmē), it would be the most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Florida. There were 481573 housing units at an average density of 1720.4 per square mile (664.25/kmē). The average household size was 2.17 persons, and the average family size was 2.77 persons. In the county Age distribution was 19.3% under the age of 18, 6.4% from 18 to 24, 27.3% from 25 to 44, 24.5% from 45 to 64, and 22.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 109.9 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 113.9 females. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 910260, The racial makeup of the county was 84.87% White, 10.37% Black or African American, 0.42% American Indian, 2.82% Asian, 0.08% Native Hawaiian, and 1.44% from two or more races.
