Pine River City is a city located in the Cass County, Minnesota, United States. As of 2000 the population was 928. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 877, It is the 351st most populous in the U.S. state of Minnesota. Its area is just over 1.15 square miles (2.98 square kilometre), of which, 1.11 square miles (2.87 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.04 square miles (0.1 square kilometre) of it is water, makes it the 448th largest by total area in Minnesota.

As of the census of 2000, there were 928 people, 438 households, and 217 families living in the city. The population density was 834.6 people per square mile (322.24/kmē), making its Minnesota's 358th most densely populated city.
