Pine Island City is a city in the Goodhue and Olmsted counties, Minnesota, United States. It is home to over 2337 people (2000 census). As of July 2008, the estimated population was 3326, giving it the 218th largest population among Minnesota. The city extends throughout a territory of 2.95 sq mi (7.64 square kilometre ), of which, 2.93 square miles (7.59 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 237th largest by area in the U.S. state of Minnesota.

As of the census of 2000, there were 2337 people, 864 households, and 628 families living in the city. The population density was 797.5 people per square mile (307.92/kmē), it is the 372nd most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Minnesota.
