As per the 2000 census, census designated place has a population of 41764 inhabitants. making it Florida's 59th largest. It has total area of 7.92 square miles (20.51 square kilometre), of which, 7.68 square miles (19.89 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.24 square miles (0.62 square kilometre) of it is water, it is the 230th largest by area in the U.S. state of Florida.
