Pine City City is a city located in Pine County, Minnesota, in the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As of 2000 the population was 3043. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 3285, making it the 182nd most populous in Minnesota. The city encompasses an area of 3.23 square miles (8.37 square kilometre ), of which, 2.83 square miles (7.33 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.41 square miles (1.06 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 218th largest by total area among Minnesota.

As of the census of 2000, there were 3043 residents, 1222 households, and 735 families in the city. The population density was 1076.3 people per square mile (415.56/kmē), making its Minnesota's 261st most densely populated city.
