Pike County, Ohio is a county located in the Midwestern Region (East North Central) of United States. The county has a population of 27695 as per the 2000 census data. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 27967, making it the ninth least populous county in Ohio. The county encompasses an area of 443.94 sq mi (1149.8 sq km ), of which, 441.49 square miles (1143.45 sq km) of it is land and 2.46 square miles (6.37 sq km) of it is water, it is the 48th largest in terms of geographical size.

In the county the population was spread out, with 27.2% under the age of 18, 8.9% from 18 to 24, 28.9% from 25 to 44, 21.5% from 45 to 64, and 13.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 92.5 males. In July 2008, its estimated population was 27967, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 96.33% White, 1.01% Black or African American, 0.8% American Indian, 0.29% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, and 1.52% from two or more races.
