Pike County is one of the 115 county of Missouri, located towards the Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. The county has a population of 18351 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the population was estimated at 18476, It is 58th most populous county in Missouri. It is spread over 684.81 mi˛ (1773.65 sq km), of which, 672.82 square miles (1742.6 sq km ) of it is land and 11.99 square miles (31.05 sq km) of it is water, it is the 36th largest by area in the U.S. state of Missouri.

In the county Age distribution was 23.4% under the age of 18, 9.1% from 18 to 24, 29.8% from 25 to 44, 22.8% from 45 to 64, and 15% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 119.2 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 123.8 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 18476, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 16509 White, 1656 Black or African American, 55 American Indian, 32 Asian, 7 Native Hawaiian, and 217 from two or more races.
