Pierce County is a United States county located in the United States of Wisconsin. In 2000, the population was 36804. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 40254, It is the 37th most populous county in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. The county comprises an area of 591.59 sq mi (1532.21 square kilometre), of which, 576.49 square miles (1493.1 square kilometre) of it is land and 15.1 square miles (39.11 square kilometre) of it is water, making it the 15th smallest by size in Wisconsin.

In the county Age distribution was 24.4% under the age of 18, 17% from 18 to 24, 28.1% from 25 to 44, 20.8% from 45 to 64, and 9.6% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 97.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 94.2 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 40254, The racial makeup of the county was 97.63% White, 0.42% Black or African American, 0.34% American Indian, 0.77% Asian, 0.03% Native Hawaiian, and 0.8% from two or more races.
