Phoenixville Borough is a United States borough located in the Chester County, Pennsylvania, United States. In 2000, the population was 14788. In July 2008, its estimated population was 16382, It is the 59th largest by population in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It has total area of 3.75 sq mi (9.71 kmē), of which, 3.59 square miles (9.3 kmē) of it is land and 0.16 square miles (0.41 kmē) of it is water, it is the 160th largest by area in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.

As of the census of 2000, there were 14788 people, 6460 households, and 3673 families living in the borough. The population density was 4120 people per square mile (1590.74/kmē), making its Pennsylvania's 225th most densely populated borough. There were 6793 housing units at an average density of 1892.2 per square mile (730.58/kmē). The average household size was 2.25 persons, and the average family size was 2.99 persons. In the borough the population is diverse age-wise, with 22.5% under the age of 18, 7.7% from 18 to 24, 36.2% from 25 to 44, 19.7% from 45 to 64, and 13.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 93.3 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 90.4 males. The median age of the borough's population was 35.8 years, The median age of males was 34.8 years, for females the median age was 36.9 years. The racial or ethnic makeup of the borough was 12857 White, 1133 Black or African American, 22 American Indian, 358 Asian, 3 Native Hawaiian, 242 from two or more races and 173 Ohter races.
