Philadelphia City, Mississippi is a city of the Neshoba County, Mississippi, United States. Philadelphia City had an official population of 7303 in 2000. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 7977, It is the 47th most populous in the U.S. state of Mississippi. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 10.63 sq mi (27.53 square kilometre), of which, 10.61 square miles (27.48 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.02 square miles (0.05 square kilometre) of it is water, making it Mississippi's 59th largest by total area.

As of the census of 2000, there were 7303 people in the city, organized into 2950 households, and 1901 families living in the city. The population density was 688.1 people per square mile (265.68/kmē), it would be the 128th most densely populated city in the U.S. state of Mississippi. There were 3302 housing units at an average density of 311.2 per square mile (120.15/kmē). The average household size was 2.38 persons, and the average family size was 3 persons. In the city the population was spread out, with 26.1% under the age of 18, 9.1% from 18 to 24, 25.9% from 25 to 44, 21% from 45 to 64, and 17.8% who were 65 or older.
