Petersburg City is a city located in Grant County, West Virginia, in the Southern Region (South Atlantic) of United States. Petersburg City had an official population of 2423 in 2000. Its population was estimated at 2774 in July 2008, It is the 65th largest in terms of population. Its area is just over 1.63 mi˛ (4.22 sq km), makes it the 107th largest by total area in West Virginia.
