Perth Amboy City, New Jersey is a city of the Middlesex County, New Jersey, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 47303 inhabitants. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 48742, making it the 21st most populous in New Jersey. It is spread over 5.98 mi˛ (15.49 square kilometre), of which, 4.78 square miles (12.38 square kilometre ) of it is land and 1.2 square miles (3.11 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 88th largest by total area among New Jersey.
