Perry County is a county located in the United States of Ohio. As per the 2000 census, county has a population of 34078 inhabitants. In July 2008, its estimated population was 35241, It is Ohio's 21st least populous county. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 412.59 mi˛ (1068.6 sq km), of which, 409.78 square miles (1061.33 sq km) of it is land and 2.82 square miles (7.3 sq km) of it is water, making it Ohio's 20th smallest county by total area.

The population density was 83.2 people per square mile (32.12/km˛), giving it the 24th least densely populated county among the Ohio. There were 13655 housing units at an average density of 33.3 per square mile (12.86/km˛). It has an average household size was 2.7 persons, and the average family size was 3.13 persons. In the county the population was distributed as follows: 28.1% under the age of 18, 8.5% from 18 to 24, 29.1% from 25 to 44, 22.3% from 45 to 64, and 12% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 98.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 95.4 males. It has an estimated population (as of July 2008) of 35241, The racial or ethnic makeup of the county was 98.28% White, 0.42% Black or African American, 0.31% American Indian, 0.14% Asian, 0.01% Native Hawaiian, and 0.84% from two or more races.
