Pelican Rapids City is a one of the Otter Tail County, Minnesota, located in Midwestern Region (West North Central) of United States. As per the 2000 census, city has a population of 2374 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 2311, It is Minnesota's 215th largest by population . The city encompasses an area of 2.67 mi˛ (6.92 square kilometre ), of which, 2.62 square miles (6.79 square kilometre) of it is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 254th largest by total area among Minnesota.

The median age is 36.5 years, the median age of male residents at 33.3 and the median age of female residents at 39.6. The racial makeup of the city was 78.43% White, 0.72% Black or African American, 0.93% American Indian, 3.58% Asian, 0.04% Native Hawaiian, 3.54% from two or more races and 12.76% Other races.
