Paynesville City is a city located in the Stearns County, Minnesota, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 2267 inhabitants. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 2262, making it Minnesota's 223rd largest. The city spans an area of 1.32 sq mi (3.42 kmē), it is the 417th largest by area in the U.S. state of Minnesota.
