It is 434th most populous in Pennsylvania. It is spread over 1.69 mi˛ (4.38 sq km), of which, 1.68 square miles (4.35 sq km ) of it is land and 0.01 square miles (0.03 sq km) of it is water, it is the 458th largest by area in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.

As of the census of 2000, there were 3197 residents, 1261 households, and 890 families in the town. The population density was 1903.1 people per square mile (734.79/km˛), it is 666th most densely populated town in Pennsylvania.
