Parkland City, Florida


Parkland City is a city in the Broward County, Florida, United States. According to the 2000 census it had a population of 13835 inhabitants. The city's estimated population as of July 2008 was 24017, making it the 201st most populous in Florida. It is spread over 10.78 mi˛ (27.92 square kilometre), of which, 10.2 square miles (26.42 square kilometre ) of it is land and 0.58 square miles (1.5 square kilometre) of it is water, giving it the 174th largest by total area among Florida.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 13835 people, 4349 households, and 3806 families residing in the city. The population density was 1356.7 people per square mile (523.82/km˛), it is 506th most densely populated city in Florida. There were 4522 housing units at an average density of 443.3 per square mile (171.16/km˛). The average household size was 3.18 and the average family size was 3.42. In the city the population was spread out, with 35.1% under the age of 18, 4.3% from 18 to 24, 32.8% from 25 to 44, 24% from 45 to 64, and 3.8% who were 65 or older. For every 100 males there were 101 females. For every 100 males age 18 and over, there were 106.7 females. The median age is 35.5 years, the median age of male residents at 35.3 and the median age of female residents at 35.6. The racial or ethnic makeup of the city was 12648 White, 425 Black or African American, 16 American Indian, 445 Asian, 1 Native Hawaiian, 171 from two or more races and 129 Ohter races.
