Park County is one of the 23 county of Wyoming, located towards the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. The county has a population of 25786 as per the 2000 census data. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 27574, giving it the eighth largest population among Wyoming's county. The county encompasses an area of 6968.51 square miles (18048.36 kmē ), of which, 6942.39 square miles (17980.71 kmē) of it is land and 26.11 square miles (67.62 kmē) of it is water, making it the fourth largest by size in Wyoming. It is ranks eighth in the size of its inland waterways in Wyoming.

According to 2000 Census Bureau, there were 25786 residents, 10312 households, and 7092 families in the county. The population density was 3.7 people per square mile (1.43/kmē), it is the 13th most densely populated county in the U.S. state of Wyoming. There were 11869 housing units at an average density of 1.7 per square mile (0.66/kmē). The average household size was 2.42 persons, and the average family size was 2.92 persons. In the county Age distribution was 24.4% under the age of 18, 9.1% from 18 to 24, 25.2% from 25 to 44, 26.7% from 45 to 64, and 14.5% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 95 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 93.1 males. Its population in July 2008 was estimated to be about 27574, The racial makeup of the county was 26904 White, 79 Black or African American, 185 American Indian, 132 Asian, 12 Native Hawaiian, and 262 from two or more races.
