Park County is a county located in Colorado, in the Western Region (Mountain) of United States. The population of county in 2000 stood at 14523 as per the Census data. According to July 2008 Census Bureau estimates, the population of the county is 16993, It is the 28th most populous county in the U.S. state of Colorado. It has total area of 2210.69 square miles (5725.66 sq km), of which, 2200.69 square miles (5699.76 sq km) of it is land and 10 square miles (25.9 sq km) of it is water, it is the 17th largest by area in the U.S. state of Colorado. It is ranks tenth in the size of its inland waterways in Colorado.

The population density was 6.6 people per square mile (2.55/kmē), it is the 38th most populated county in terms of population density. There were 10697 housing units at an average density of 4.9 per square mile (1.89/kmē). The average household size was 2.45 persons, and the average family size was 2.86 persons. In the county Age distribution was 23.5% under the age of 18, 5.1% from 18 to 24, 33.4% from 25 to 44, 30.6% from 45 to 64, and 7.3% who were 65 or older. For every 100 females there were 107.1 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 107.6 males. As of July 2008, the estimated population was 16993, The racial makeup of the county was 16346 White, 132 Black or African American, 155 American Indian, 85 Asian, 4 Native Hawaiian, and 271 from two or more races.
