Panola County is a county in the United States of Mississippi. The population of county in 2000 stood at 34274 as per the Census data. The county's estimated population as of July 2008 was 35660, making it Mississippi's 24th largest county. It covers total area of 705.13 miē (1826.28 kmē), of which, 684.2 square miles (1772.07 kmē) of it is land and 20.94 square miles (54.23 kmē) of it is water, it is the 21st largest by area in the U.S. state of Mississippi.
